Custom colouring pages made from your own photos

We turn each of your photos into a custom colouring page: clean black outlines on white, showing your own people, pets and places. The pages are printed on one side of 150gsm paper and bound as an A4 book, and you see every page free before you pay.

Choose bold, simple lines for little ones or a detailed style for older children and adults.

What a colouring page from a photo looks like

A good colouring page keeps the outlines that matter (faces, hair, clothes and a few big shapes behind) and leaves out the shading.

A photo is full of soft tones, shadows and texture. A colouring page has none of that, just closed shapes waiting to be filled. So each page simplifies its photo: faces are drawn with a few clean lines, busy backgrounds are thinned out, and grey shading is left out altogether so there is always somewhere to colour.

Because a drawing simplifies, a page won’t capture every detail of a face. Large, sharp, well-lit faces come out most recognisable. That is why you see every page before you pay, and can swap any photo whose page doesn’t look right.

The book at a glance

  • A personalised A4 colouring book: one page per photo, up to 20
  • 150gsm paper printed on one side, ready for pencils or felt tips
  • No price inside, posted flat in a sturdy envelope
  • £29.97 with Royal Mail Tracked 48 included; 2 copies £40, 3 copies £45 or 4 copies £50
  • Free preview of every page before you pay

Two line styles

You choose one line style for the whole book when you start: bold and simple for younger children, or finer and fuller for older children and adults.

Example Little Hands colouring page with thick, simple outlines

Little Hands

Bold, simple lines (ages 3–7).

Thick outlines and fewer, bigger shapes, so small hands can stay inside the lines and finish a page before they lose interest.

Example Detailed colouring page with finer lines and more detail

Detailed

Ages 8+ and adults.

Finer lines and more of the scene, for older children and grown-ups who like a longer colouring session with more to work on.

Which photos make the best pages?

The best colouring pages come from sharp, well-lit photos where the faces are big in the frame.

  • Faces large in the picture, not tiny figures in the distance
  • Good, even light: daylight beats flash or a dim room
  • Sharp focus, with no motion blur
  • One to four people rather than a crowd
  • A simple background, or a favourite place with one clear landmark

Photos taken straight from a phone are ideal. You can upload JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP files of up to 25MB each. Our guide to choosing photos for colouring pages goes into more detail.

How we make and check each page

Each photo is redrawn as line art by an image service, checked automatically for anything unsuitable for a children’s book, then checked again by one of our team before printing.

If a photo can’t be used, or just won’t make a good page, we ask you for another. You can also swap any photo yourself from the preview, and up to 10 replacements are included with every order.

Your photos are stored encrypted and used only to make your book and never used to train AI. Our privacy policy names every company that handles them and says how long each thing is kept.

Printed pages, not printables

Your custom colouring pages arrive printed and bound as a book, not as files to print at home.

Every book has 8 to 20 colouring pages, one per photo, printed on 150gsm paper on one side only, so a felt tip that soaks through only reaches a blank page. A 300gsm card guard page at the back cuts out to slip behind the page you’re colouring. It’s posted flat in a plain brown, board-backed envelope.

If you need a single page today, for a party table or a rainy afternoon, our guide to turning a photo into a colouring page shows how to make one yourself by tracing, with a photo app or with an AI tool.

Questions about custom colouring pages

Can I get my custom colouring pages as files to print at home?

No. Your pages are printed and bound as an A4 book and posted to you. The preview you see before paying is watermarked and is not print quality.

Can I order just one custom colouring page?

No, each order is a printed book of 8 to 20 colouring pages, one per photo. For a single page, our guide to turning a photo into a colouring page shows a few ways to make one yourself.

Will the people on the pages look like the photos?

Line art always simplifies a photo, so some detail is lost and a perfect likeness can’t be promised. Large, sharp, well-lit faces come out most recognisable. You see every page in the free preview and can swap any photo whose page doesn’t look right.

What if a page doesn’t look right?

You can swap any photo before you pay, and we make a new page from the replacement. Up to 10 replacements are included with every order. Our team also checks every page after you order and will contact you if one needs a different photo.

Which line style should I choose?

Choose Little Hands for younger children and Detailed for older children and adults. Little Hands uses bold, simple lines (ages 3–7); Detailed is aimed at ages 8+ and adults. You can see your pages in the preview before you pay.

Are there photos you can’t use?

Yes, we don’t make pages from photos that aren’t suitable for a children’s book. That includes any nudity (including bath-time photos), violence, and photos of celebrities or branded characters. You must also own the photos or have permission from everyone in them. If a photo can’t be used we’ll ask you for another one, and the unused photo is deleted when you replace it.
